From the Principal’s Desk

As we wrap-up the 3 quarter, we are reminded of just how quickly time passes. Parent-Teacher- Student conferences will be held on March 27-28. At this time you will receive your child(ren)’s report card and hear a presentation by the student on his/her greatest accomplishments and goals for the rest of the year. Please complete and return the enclosed PTS conference schedule to your preferred time. Title 1 teachers and specials instructors will be present as well to discuss student progress.

A few other topics to note:

Tiger News Feb 26, 2014
Today you will receive your student’s 3 quarter progress report, which serves as a snapshot of child’s work since returning from Christmas break. It is important to note that we have only had 17 instructional days thus far, meaning every assignment, classwork or homework, had a significant impact on grades. We continue to emphasize the importance of completing nightly homework assignments, reading for upcoming tests, and reviewing spelling and vocab words every day. Parents, please make sure you are checking your student’s assignment book and challenging him/her to do more than is required. Read ten more minutes. Double check math work. Reread written assignments aloud to make sure they are correct. Use complete sentences when answering all questions. Their extra attention to detail will result in greater comprehension and, ultimately, higher grades.
